Abstract

In order to identify prognostic criteria of the effectiveness of treatment of ovarian cancer on the material of 59 patients a retrospective comparison of results of preoperative ultrasound in the B-mode; colour, power and spectral Doppler mapping in relapse-free subgroup and at relapse was conducted. It was found that the negative prognostic criteria are: tumor volume more than 100 cm3, fuzzy rough outlines, central or mixed blood flow with neovascularization by hypervascular type, highspeed blood flow indicators (Vps>50 cm/s), low values of hemodynamic indices (RI<0.40, PI<0.90). The development of the doppler-defined arteriovenous shunts with signs of turbulent or mixed (arterial and venous) blood flow in tumors is a highly informative unfavorable prognostic sign.
